Local MP Helps to Make a Promise
1st Langworthy Rainbows and Brownies opened in December 2011 and to mark the occasion the unit leaders invited local MP Hazel Blears to join the celebrations. The leaders organised a meet-and-greet party to welcome the new recruits in style!
The evening opened with a short speech by Hazel who congratulated the unit on contributing towards the regeneration of the Langworthy area. The 13 Brownies and 7 Rainbows then made their promise in front of parents and received their promise badge from Hazel.
After this the girls made a community Christmas tree out of their handprints using lots of glitter and sequins. Finally, they sang Christmas carols around the piano to the parents who were enjoying mince pies and mulled wine.
