Annual Review 2011

Thank You!

Our focus during 2011 has been on Guiding at a local level. As well as supporting two large scale events, our members have been very active every week in their own unit meetings and with their Districts and Divisions.

Communication, adult support/training, and girls' influence on the programme have been key areas that we have worked hard to improve.

Our County website has been promoted both internally and externally to good effect and the members' area now contains useful information for everyone.

We have continued to offer high quality daytime and evening trainings for all our leaders. A District Commissioners' day in September proved very successful and provided an opportunity to share good practice as well as enjoy the comfortable surroundings of Chancellors Hotel.

Within Units, girls are actively encouraged to put their ideas forward for the programme and choose their own activities. 'Everyone has a say' is the message that our County Executive Committee and Advisers are keen to encourage amongst all our members.

I am constantly amazed to hear about the enterprising ventures that are routinely undertaken as part of community service or to offer new experiences to our young members. All of our adult volunteers do a fantastic job and give so freely of their time and skills. We are grateful to them and their families for all that they do to ensure that girls in Girlguiding Greater Manchester West are encouraged to develop their self confidence, build their self esteem and make a difference to the world.

I would like to say a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU!
