A Stay Away to remember at Kingswood!

Brownies from Greater Manchester West have returned home from an exhilarating weekend away to Kingswood Activity Centre, Colomendy.

The girls, aged between 7 and 10, enjoyed exciting activities including rock climbing, abseiling, zip wire, caving, volleyball and fencing to name but a few!

Special Stay Away events like this one are happening around the UK this year giving girls a chance to have sleepovers in exciting venues and an extra-special Brownie holiday experience.

Event leader, Rachel Webb said: “This trip was organised to give as many Brownies as possible the chance to celebrate the Big Brownie Birthday – 424 Brownies have had a fantastic weekend, enjoying each other’s company and experiencing many adventurous activities! It has been action packed, but very much worth it!”

Brownies from Sale Moor said: “We’re having a great weekend, our favourite activity was the night line because we had to go through a course blind folded – we all got so muddy, it was fantastic. We can’t wait for the disco tonight!”

The Stay Away is just part of the range of activities happening around the County this year to celebrate the Big Brownie Birthday. The next event will take place in June where the County will take part in Star Quest, a one-day event to celebrate Brownies in space! Brownies will star in their very own cosmic story travelling through three time zones to take part in challenges and enjoy new and exciting adventures.
