Japan 2015 Challenge - Resource

Between 28th July and 8th August 2015, Guides and Scouts from nearly every country in the world will be joining together in Kirara-hama, near to Yamaguchi City, Japan.

In an event that involves more young people than the Olympic Games, 30,000 Scouts will camp, live and work together for 10 unforgettable days of celebration and international friendship.

This challenge badge has been created to introduce the girls to the cultures and traditions of Japan. There are lots of ideas and suggestions for each activity which can be adapted to suit each section. Girls and Leaders should also feel free to incorporate their own ideas and activities if they are relevant to the challenge.

It is recommended that you spend a minimum of three meetings working on the challenge; Rainbows and Brownies should aim to complete 3-6 activities; Guides and Senior Section 4-8. Don’t worry if you don’t have access to all of the tools or materials listed on an activity – this is a flexible challenge! All the activities range in time and equipment needed so feel free to adapt them to suit your needs.

Thank you!

Resources for you to use

Although the badge is now finished, we created a lot of worksheets that you can use to create your own Japanese evening.
