7th Davyhulme Brownies at Sea Life Centre

7th Davyhulme Brownies celebrate their 35th Birthday on the sea bed!

Thanks to a Community Grant from Trafford Housing Trust, the Brownies enjoyed a sleepover at the Sea Life Centre at intu Trafford Centre.

The trip included a tour of the centre, badge making, a quiz and use of the adventure play centre. The girls even had the opportunity to touch the starfish!

After a light supper, the Brownies slept with the turtles.

Abigail Jackson, 10, said “We got to put our hands in a tank with starfish and crabs. Some star fish were really soft and others were hard and it felt funny touching them. My bed was next to the turtles which was really strange in the night because they made me jump when they swam past.

This was one of my favourite sleepovers with my Brownie pack. It was so much fun and I got to tell all my friends at school that I had a sleepover at Sea Life which they thought was really cool.”

Michelle Haigh, Assistant Leader, said “The sleepover was a fantastic success, giving the Brownies an experience which is not available to most. We also got to celebrate the Pack’s 35th Birthday, started by our very own Brown Owl back in 1981!

With a private tour of the Sea Life centre also included, the Brownies had the opportunity to ask the staff as many questions as they liked.

I am sure we will never forget the experience and will continue to talk about it for a long time to come.”
