Eccles Division's WTD18 Celebrations

Over 110 Brownies and leaders from Eccles division celebrated World Thinking Day together. The girls got to meet new friends and took part in activities from the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) Impact activity pack.

They chose India for their theme as young leader, Lucy, will be going to India in July with Loreto College to volunteer in the Rainbow homes in Kolkata, which give a safe home to vulnerable girls.

The girls enjoyed a traditional Indian dish, aloo matar, with naan bread. They learnt about henna designs and had a go themselves. To finish off their celebration they all took part in some Bollywood dancing, led by three young leaders, which was certainly the highlight of the evening!

Everyone enjoyed the event and Lucy also raised £217.50 for the Loreto schools in India and the Rainbow children who live there. This will help to buy much needed and valuable resources for them.
