Bowdon District Thinking Day of Adventure

Bowdon District celebrated Thinking Day together with ‘Grip Adventure’ at Navigation Park, Timperley.

Rainbows, Brownies and Guides had an afternoon of fun, including camp craft. The girls learnt about fire safety, how to light a fire and how to toast marshmallows to perfection on an open fire. The girls particularly enjoyed making s’mores and most definitely the eating of them!

The girls also had the opportunity try out archery and climbing, allowing them to try new things and develop self confidence and self belief with the help and encouragement of their friends.

The afternoon also provided team building opportunities with team games including rounders, races and a treasure hunt to encourage girls to work together.

Belinda Henshall, Altrincham South division commissioner, says – "What an excellent, well run day providing lots of new experiences for the girls whilst enjoying the out of doors. It was lovely to see the girls supporting one another when faced by the climbing wall, the expressions of determination shown by the climbers and then their sheer joy in ringing that bell of achievement at the top. It was a great afternoon and the sun even made an appearance. A day to definitely be repeated”.
