Brownies is our section for girls aged between seven and ten.  Their meetings are full of challenges, games and activities, usually ones that the Brownies suggest themselves.

Girls become a member of a Six (with names like Badger, Fox and Squirrel) and follow a programme called the Brownie Adventure.  As the name suggests there is a world of exciting opportunities and fun in the Brownie programme, which focuses on the individual, community and world.  To find out more about the Brownie programme click here.

At Brownies girls take part in a wide range of activities at their regular meetings and at special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays.  They are challenged to do their best: whether this is trying out arts and crafts or recipes, playing energetic games or taking part in outdoor activities and community projects. There are lots of fun things for Brownies to do including activities, stories and games on the Brownie website.  To access the site click here.

Brownies extend their knowledge and abilities by working for Brownie interest badges, like the Artist badge and the Computer badge.

What do girls say about Brownies?

"I like everything about Brownies" says ten-year-old Brownie Caitlin.

As part of Girlguiding UK, the largest organisation for girls and young women in the UK, Brownies can move on with the great friends they have made to become Guides and Senior Section members.
